Service Area & Travel Fees
Our rentals are available locally in Ottawa, ON, and throughout a wider region from Quebec City to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Delivery and setup within a 50 km radius of Ottawa are included. For locations beyond this radius, additional mileage and travel charges will apply.

What is included in the Sensory Room Rental?
Our mobile sensory room (Sensory Support Hive) rental includes everything needed to create a safe, engaging, and calming environment. This includes soft flooring tiles, sensory lighting, interactive sensory tools, seating, and calming elements. Delivery, setup, and takedown are also included.
How much does it cost to rent a sensory room?
Rental packages start at $900 in the Ottawa area. Final pricing depends on:
- Length of rental time (half day, one day, weekend, or multiple days)
- Distance from Ottawa (additional mileage/travel charges apply outside a 50km radius)
- Setup/takedown complexity (venues with stairs, long walking distances, or unusual layouts may require additional time and labour)
Where do you offer rentals?
Currently, we service Ottawa and surrounding areas. Extended service is available from Quebec City to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with additional travel fees.
Why does it cost what it does?
Each setup requires a significant amount of preparation, transportation, and hands-on installation. We bring in flooring, sensory equipment, and furnishings — all of which are heavy and bulky. For safety and efficiency, each setup requires two team members to transport, unload, install, supervise, support, reset and later dismantle and pack the equipment. This level of effort ensures the room is secure, accessible, and ready to use.
How much space is required?
The footprint of our setup is 16' x 16' (about 256 sq ft).
How long does setup take?
On average, setup takes approximately 1.5 hours depending on the venue. Takedown typically takes 1-1.5 hours. We coordinate with you to ensure everything is ready before your event begins.
What type of surface or environment do you need for setup?
Our Sensory Support Hive can be set up both indoors and outdoors. Indoors is ideal, as we only require a ceiling clearance of at least 12 feet to safely accommodate the peak of our 10x10 canopy. For flooring, we prefer flat surfaces: indoors on solid flooring is perfect, or outdoors on flat pavement/concrete where we can use our interlocking floor tiles. If setting up on grass, we cannot use our tiles, but we bring a large tarp that we secure with spikes to create a stable, safe environment for guests.
Do you donate a portion of rentals?
Yes! 2% of all rentals are donated to initiatives and organizations serving the autism and disability community. By booking with us, you are directly supporting accessibility and inclusion efforts.
